About Painted Dunes
Painted Dunes is a natural formation of colorful rock formations located in northeast El Paso, TX. The dunes get their name from the unique layers of sedimentary rock that create a striped, colorful appearance. Hiking trails wind through the area, providing visitors with an up-close view of the beautiful rock formations. The area is also popular for off-road vehicles, with designated trails for jeep and ATV enthusiasts. Painted Dunes is considered one of the most unique geological sites in the El Paso region and is a must-visit for anyone interested in nature and outdoor activities.
