Cleghorn Plantation is a historic plantation located in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. It was once a large agricultural and social center of the area, spanning over 5,000 acres and producing crops such as cotton, corn, and wheat. Today, the plantation is a popular destination for outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, and horseback riding on its extensive trail system. The plantation also features a 9-hole golf course and clubhouse for visitors to enjoy. Some of the original buildings, including the manor house and slave quarters, still stand on the property and offer a glimpse into the history and complex social dynamics of the plantation era.
