About Gleneagles Country Club
Gleneagles Country Club was a prestigious private golf club located in Lemont, Illinois. It was established in 1924 and featured two 18-hole championship golf courses designed by renowned golf course architect, Joe Lee. The club also had a newly renovated clubhouse, swimming pool, tennis courts, and dining facilities. Unfortunately, due to financial difficulties, Gleneagles Country Club closed its doors permanently in October 2019. The property was later sold to a developer who plans to redevelop the site into a residential community. The closure of Gleneagles Country Club was a great loss to the golfing community in Illinois, as it was a highly regarded golf course that had hosted several major golf tournaments and had a rich history.
