About WIngfield (Silverwing)
Wingfield, also known as Silverwing, is a sculpture of a large bat located in Calgary, Alberta. It was created by artist Sharon Barr in 2000 and is made of stainless steel and aluminum. The sculpture stands 40 feet tall and has a wingspan of 36 feet, making it one of the largest bat sculptures in North America. Wingfield is located in the Chinook Centre shopping mall and has become a popular landmark in the city.
