Established in the late 1800s by British planters, Mercara Downs Golf Club in Madikeri, Karnataka, is one of India's oldest golf courses. This 18-hole, par-70 course spans approximately 5,584 yards and features a unique blend of links-style and parkland layouts, with undulating fairways and fast greens. Set at an altitude of about 3,600 feet, the course offers scenic views of the Coorg hills and has been a favored destination for both amateur and professional golfers.
